What is Japanese Hair Straightening?
Can you say "Bye, bye, hair horrors?" Japanese hair straightening stops the madness through a revolutionary process that reconditions unmanageable, thick kinky, frizzy, curly, wavy, poofy hair into sleek tresses that shimmer and shine even in wet humid weather while preserving the hair's health and nourishing it. It improves the hair's softness while making it completely manageable.
Salon Trendz offers Japanese Straightening (straightens your hair permanently), transforming the frizziest of tangles into smooth-textured hair that you can't help but want to touch. Click here to see before and after Japanese Hair Straightening photos.
Does this method go by different names?
Yes. Japanese hair straightening goes by many names, including thermal reconditioning, Japanese iron straightening, Bio Ionic hair retexturing, Thermal straightening, Thermal Reconstruction, Thermal Reconditioning and Rebonding, straight perm, Japanese straight perm, and high-tech straight perm. ...So, it is very important that you communicate clearly when making a hair appointment and speaking to your hair technician.
Does it matter if I've used a hair relaxer?
Whoa! Yes, yes and yes. If your hair already has a relaxer in it, you will not be able to receive the Japanese Hair Straightening process at this time. The two services are incompatible and can have very negative results if combined, including breakage. Talk to a Salon Trendz hair stylist about how long you will need to wait.
What is the difference between relaxers, Japanese, and Brazilian hair straightening?
Relaxers just burn the outside shaft of your hair. So it doesn't get straight, it looks dead and limp so it just sits on your head. Brazilian hair straightening works if you have straight frizzy hair. It's never meant to straighten hair, but its suppose to make it 20% easier to straighten.
If your hair is curly you probably won't see a difference. When you have Brazilian straightening you can't use sodium chloride shampoo which is like every shampoo over the counter at stores except some children shampoos and herbal African-American shampoos.
I recommend the Brazilian straightening for woman with straight hair that just have frizz problems. The bad thing about the Brazilian straightening is that it uses formaldehyde (the stuff they use to preserve dead bodies).
Japanese hair straightening, also called thermal reconditioning, is a method of transforming even the curliest locks into pin-straight hair. This is a very intensive process that leaves the hair completely straight, and feeling silky and smooth with a glossy appearance. It works by breaking down the hydrogen bonds in the hair's cortex to remove all curl and waves. Since this is a permanent restructuring of your hair, it will last until new hair growth.
I personally like the Japanese Hair Straightening I get awesome results, and my hair feels naturally straight and healthy.
Does Japanese hair straightening work the same for everyone?

See photos for African-American hair judge for yourself. Other benefits to J.H.S. is:
How long does the straightening process take in the salon?
You should set aside three to four hours to complete this process. Plan ahead and clear your schedule, so you can have a stress-free experience. You want it to be a fond farewell for those "frizzies" don't you?
Can I color or highlight my hair afterward?
Yes, in most cases you can add color after having your hair thermally straightened; however, the waiting time between the two processes may vary from client to client.
How long do the results last?
Japanese hair straightening is relatively permanent. The process uses heat to restructure the bonds in your hair, so results are long-lasting. Depending on your rate of hair growth, hair type, and the tightness of your natural curl, you may need to touch-up new growth about every six to twelve months. You also will need to be diligent about using the recommended after-care products specifically designed for women who have had this procedure.
Is Japanese Hair Straightening a good deal?
Well, let's be honest. There is cost involved - both time and money. ...But then, you have to consider the hours you spend every month doing battle with your hair. Normally, it takes "forever" to get your hair straight and sleek, and after all that toil, it's only a short-term fix - especially if it rains! Doesn't a hassle-free beauty routine sound good right about now? Uh-huh. That's right. All that grief can be banished. Still hesitant about the cost of our services? Do some research. Check out other reputable salons and compare the value. We are confident that our offer is the best out there. It's an investment, but with big returns!.
This is a permenant straightening solution (i.e, only need to touchup the roots/growth in 6 to 12 months) so don't confuse it with Keratin. Also, our product is safe non-toxic and not carcinogenic (0% Formaldehyde) and is actually healthy for your hair.
On average, we will save you at least 20 minutes on styling every day. That's 60 hours saved over a six-month period.
Ask yourself "What is my time worth"? ...and "Wouldn't effortless, silky-straight hair be a treat"? ...You know the answer, and so do we.
