Thermal Hair Reconditioning Treatment

Before your appointment:
It is extremely important (and usually required) to schedule a consultation with the hair salon prior to the service. At this time, the stylist can assess your hair and determine whether or not it is suitable for the Japanese Hair Straightening (ie, thermal reconditioning treatment).

Hair that has been colored, highlighted, permed or relaxed may not be suitable for thermal reconditioning. The salon should administer a strand test to analyze the thermal reconditioning effect on your hair.

During the consultation, ask your stylist if there is anything special that needs to be done before your thermal reconditioning appointment. The stylist may request you to condition or abstain from shampooing hair prior to the appointment.

What to Expect:
The thermal reconditioning process can take 3-4 hours, depending on the length and condition of hair.

During the treatment process, special products are applied to relax and break down the bonds of the hair. Afterwards, hair is dried and straightened with an iron.
  • Supply you of reading material to keep you entertained.
  • Complementary refreshment.

Post-Treatment:
We request that you wait 48 hours before shampooing or wetting hair. Also, the following:
  1. Don't wash or wet hair.
  2. Do not use hair clips or bobbi pins.
  3. Don't use hair bands.
  4. Do not tie hair into pony-tail.
  5. Do not place hair behind ears.
  6. Do not use your glasses to hold the hair back.
  7. No perspiration (no exercise), steam rooms, and hot tubs/swimming,....etc.
* Please take any after-care instructions your stylist gives you seriously. Ignoring instructions could cause hair to reverse back to its curly state or cause frizzing or kinking.

What is iStraight System (Japanese Hair Straightening)?
Can you say "Bye, bye, hair horrors?" i-Straight (aka, Japanese hair straightening) stops the madness through a revolutionary process that reconditions unmanageable, thick kinky, frizzy, curly, wavy, poofy hair into sleek tresses that shimmer and shine even in wet humid weather while preserving the hair's health and nourishing it. It improves the hair's softness while making it completely manageable.

Salon Trendz offers Japanese Straightening (straightens your hair permanently), transforming the frizziest of tangles into smooth-textured hair that you can't help but want to touch. Click here to see before and after Japanese Hair Straightening photos.

Does this method go by different names?
Yes. Japanese hair straightening goes by many names, including thermal reconditioning, Japanese iron straightening, Bio Ionic hair retexturing, Thermal straightening, Thermal Reconstruction, Thermal Reconditioning and Rebonding, straight perm, Japanese straight perm, and high-tech straight perm. ...So, it is very important that you communicate clearly when making a hair appointment and speaking to your hair technician.

Does it matter if I've used a hair relaxer?
Whoa! Yes, yes and yes. If your hair already has a relaxer in it, you will not be able to receive the Japanese Hair Straightening process at this time. The two services are incompatible and can have very negative results if combined, including breakage. Talk to a Salon Trendz hair stylist about how long you will need to wait.

What is the difference between relaxers, Japanese, and Brazilian hair straightening?
Relaxers just burn the outside shaft of your hair. So it doesn't get straight, it looks dead and limp so it just sits on your head. Brazilian hair straightening works if you have straight frizzy hair. It's never meant to straighten hair, but its suppose to make it 20% easier to straighten.

If your hair is curly you probably won't see a difference. When you have Brazilian straightening you can't use sodium chloride shampoo which is like every shampoo over the counter at stores except some children shampoos and herbal African-American shampoos.

I recommend the Brazilian straightening for woman with straight hair that just have frizz problems. The bad thing about the Brazilian straightening is that it uses formaldehyde (the stuff they use to preserve dead bodies).

Japanese hair straightening, also called thermal reconditioning, is a method of transforming even the curliest locks into pin-straight hair. This is a very intensive process that leaves the hair completely straight, and feeling silky and smooth with a glossy appearance. It works by breaking down the hydrogen bonds in the hair's cortex to remove all curl and waves. Since this is a permanent restructuring of your hair, it will last until new hair growth.

I personally like the Japanese Hair Straightening I get awesome results, and my hair feels naturally straight and healthy.

Does Japanese hair straightening work the same for everyone?
Results may vary, depending on the tightness of your curls and the expertise of your hair technician. Here at Salon Trendz, we have a specialist, who has extensive experience with this treatment. She has given many clients dramatic results and a story to tell. Schedule a consultation at the salon. The analysis is free. So, you can't beat that!

Are all hair types suitable for a Japanese straight perm?
Most women are candidates for thermal straightening, including those with virgin African-American (not relaxed), Black, Asian, Middle Eastern, Norwegian, Caucasian, and Latina-type hair. See photos for African-American hair judge for yourself. But It's best to schedule a free consultation so we can test strand to and answer any questions about the suitability of this straightening method.

Other benefits to J.H.S. is:

  • Eliminate frizz & curliness or at minimal reduce them tremendously.
  • Increases luster.
  • Prevent hair-damage by eliminating or reducing the daily need to use hair dryers.
  • Humid-Proof & Frizz Free Hair.
  • It makes a great graduation gift.

How long does the straightening process take in the salon?
You should set aside three to four hours to complete this process. Plan ahead and clear your schedule, so you can have a stress-free experience. You want it to be a fond farewell for those "frizzies" don't you?

Can I color or highlight my hair afterward?
Yes, in most cases you can add color after having your hair thermally straightened; however, the waiting time between the two processes may vary from client to client.

How long do the results last?
Japanese hair straightening is relatively permanent. The process uses heat to restructure the bonds in your hair, so results are long-lasting. Depending on your rate of hair growth, hair type, and the tightness of your natural curl, you may need to touch-up new growth about every six to twelve months. You also will need to be diligent about using the recommended after-care products specifically designed for women who have had this procedure.

Is Japanese Hair Straightening a good deal?
Well, let's be honest. There is cost involved - both time and money. ...But then, you have to consider the hours you spend every month doing battle with your hair. Normally, it takes "forever" to get your hair straight and sleek, and after all that toil, it's only a short-term fix -  especially if it rains! Doesn't a hassle-free beauty routine sound good right about now? Uh-huh. That's right. All that grief can be banished. Still hesitant about the cost of our services? Do some research. Check out other reputable salons and compare the value. We are confident that our offer is the best out there. It's an investment, but with big returns!.

This is a permanent straightening treatment
(i.e, only need to touch-up the roots/growth in 6 to 9 months) so don't confuse it with Keratin.  Also, our product is safe non-toxic and not carcinogenic (0% Formaldehyde) and is actually healthy for your hair.

On average, we will save you at least 20 minutes on styling every day. That's 60 hours saved over a six-month period.

Ask yourself "What is my time worth"?  ...and "Wouldn't effortless, silky-straight hair be a treat"? ...You know the answer, and so do we.

Why should I schedule an appointment now?
Well, we have a special going on, but for a limited time. We use top-of-the-line products in our Japanese hair straightening, but the economy is changing. (Note that most reputable salons charge $600-$900 a pop).

Prices will go up, so we may not be able to offer this special for long - and we are not just saying that to allure you in. Some of our clients fly from various states, like California, Texas, New York, and Florida, just to get the J.H.S. service done. New Clients get The (Economy-Buster Deal) - New Client Special Promo - for most normal hair length and texture.

If you are looking for Flawless Smooth Straight Hair, don’t delay and consider The Japanese Straightening (aka Thermal Hair Straightening) for Frizz-Free Straight Hair and make everyone else envy of your smooth shiny hair. If comparison shopping, be careful. Don't be fooled by cheaper prices. A low price elsewhere should raise some red flags regarding the quality of products used and/or the expertise of the stylist. Be sure any stylist you use has a long-standing track record in the industry and can verify past stellar results.

Trust is everything. Rest assured at Salon Trendz, we have a certified Japanese Hair Straightening professional stylist using i-Straight System that has over 10 years of hair straightening and salon experience . We know how important it is to get JHS done right the first time!.

Again, we are not talking about some cheap products are circulating out there or newbies who do trial and errors.  We have clients flying from all over the country just to get the Japanese Hair Straightening treatment done at Salon Trendz , and that's speaks highly of the products and vast experience we have. Let alone the repeats we have. Check out testimonials.
